The Arming Sword of
Liberty
This +1 magical
sword appears as a long sword with an eagle on its pommel. If within
30 feet of a free individual who has been taxed unfairly (1/3 or
more) then the sword glows in scintillating colors of red, white and
blue. The sword will call on all free individuals who have been taxed
(depending on campaign milieu) to gather weaponry and fight back
against their tyrant with slogans (“Don’t tread on us!, “Give
us liberty or give us death! To arms! To arms!”, etc.). It gives
them an almost berserker-like battle lust and adds a morale of +13
while giving them +1 in battle (cumulative to holder as well as long
as there is at least one other freedom fighter.). If the tyrant is
slain the sword sparks out pyrotechnical displays into the sky for 5
rounds.
